Beach Snacks

A successful beach trip is filled with sun, sand and snacks. When packing for a day at the beach we recommend things that easily transportable. Here's where you should start:

1. Fruits and fruit salad

My summer favorites are mango and pineapple. Try cutting chunks of your favorite fruit and packing them in a container with a tight lid. Any fruit works for this: grapes, strawberries and frozen peaches are other options.

2. Trail Mix

Making my own sweet-and-salty mix is always the best. Combine cashews, raisins, dry-roasted peanuts, dried cranberries and even mini pretzels.

3. Raw veggies with dip

Vegetables make for a refreshing beach snack. Try celery sticks and whole baby carrots, and add a small container of low-fat dip.

4. Cheese

It's filled with protein and will fill you up. Choose low-fat string cheese or baby cheese rounds for single servings. Take crackers or breadsticks to eat with the cheese.

5. Granola bars

This is the easiest go-to. Pick a granola bar that's healthy and tasty. Some of our favorites are Fiber One bars and Planters NUT-rition's Bone Health Bar.
