Amanda Seyfried's Style Evolution

Amanda Seyfried has been acting since 1999, but it was eight years ago that she had her breakthrough role on "Mean Girls." Her style from 19 to 26 has changed vastly as she has matured.

She seems clearly like a novice at this point. Her dress becomes see-through with the flashes of light, and it's overall a very plain look.

At the MTV Movie Awards, she chose a color that was flattering on her, but the rest of the dress did nothing for her. It was too big and too shapeless.

For this event, something on the serious side was the right call, but this blue dress is drab. It looks as if it's a size too big, and even her hair could have used a little polishing.

While this dress is perfectly acceptable for off days, it doesn't shine or stand out on the red carpet. It's a shame because the plain back shoes have a bit of sass to them.

It's not the best dress on the red carpet, and there are definitely some fit issues. But she's dressed in vibrant green and she's not afraid to make an impact. This is the beginning of her style growing up.

For the Oscars, she wore a red Valentino gown. The color looks stunning, and there's an old school Hollywood charm about the look. The bow is a bit overwhelming for her frame, but she looks more like a movie star than not.

She looks her age, and like someone who isn't afraid of the red carpet. The blue dress is lovely on its own, but it has a surprise element with the silver. There's a little bit of matching going on, but Seyfried looks perfect for the occasion.

For the premiere of "In Time," she wore a Prabal Gurung dress. It's colorful, a good length, and it's a great way to draw attention to herself on the opening of her movie. This is one of the most daring looks she has worn, and it paid off.

Though she still has missteps, it's noteworthy that the reason for her failure is because she went too big. At the beginning of her career, she went in the other direction. Clearly, she has gotten more comfortable with fashion, and she feels better experimenting than just playing it safe. At the Tony Awards, she wore a Givenchy dress with one too many orange accessories.
