Balancing Life and Work

As 20-somethings, it's easy to go one of two ways: focus too much on getting ahead in your career or have too much fun that you're not worrying about your future. Both are important. You are young, and you can work hard, but you should also enjoy your youth and your family.

1. Schedule Your Fun
First of all, this gives you something to look forward to, and it has the added bonus that it will make you plan out the rest of your time, so that you don't miss the fun.

2. Track Your Time
Find out where all your time goes. This way you can cut out whatever is unnecessary.

3. Say No
Whether it's a project at work or an invitation to another social activity, don't feel obligated to always say yes. Once you start saying no, you'll have more time for things that matter to you.

4. Be effective
Make sure you are doing your household chores or work tasks as effective as possible. If you aren't timing it well or making many mistakes, you might find yourself spending more time than is needed.

5. Work is for work. After hours is for after hours.
When you are home or out, don't worry about work. And when you are at work, try to spend less time thinking about your social life. You'll only stress yourself out during your downtime or stop being as productive as possible at work.
