Just as Anne Hathaway drew inspiration from Hedy Lamarr for her role as Catwoman, we also can't help but take notice of her. The Austrian actress was prominent during the Golden Age of Hollywood. She had a bit of a Vivien Leigh quality to her, and could switch between sweet and sinister. It's no wonder that Bob Kane was inspired by her when he created Catwoman. Also, she is known for co-inventing frequency hopping, which is the basis for modern wireless network connections.
In short, she was pretty awesome.
