The Best Dressed Catwoman

We were thoroughly impressed with Anne Hathaway's Catwoman. She was the right mix of tough and sexy, and we loved that it didn't become only about her looks. This hasn't always been the case for previous versions of Selina Kyle, but we certainly aren't acquainted with all of them.

So we can only judge them on one thing: the costume.

Julie Newmar

She is the original Catwoman and played the part for a Batman television series. Her suit is shiny, and her showy jewelry is on display. Though we aren't a fan of the claws, we do think the eyebrows are a nice touch.

Lee Meriwether

Meriwether filled in for Newmar for the film version of Batman, which makes her the first Catwoman on the big screen. Her suit is similarly shiny, and the low-heeled boots have a definite '60s feel.

Eartha Kitt

Kitt also replaced Newmar, but on the TV show, making her the third Catwoman of the '60s. This also explains the similarities between each of these costumes, and specifically why she is wearing the same necklace as Newmar.

Michelle Pfeiffer

The differences start becoming apparent in the almost-three decades without Catwoman. The shiny suit remains, but the sheen is different. There is also detailing all throughout the suit, and the playful boots from before are much more sexed up. Also, the mask doesn't show her hair and doesn't seem to be particularly flattering.

Halle Berry

The claws are back, but the catsuit is not. A crop top and scratched-up pants take its place. She is definitely the most out place Catwoman. The mask is similar to the one worn by Pfeiffer, but everything else is re-imagined. The pants aren't tucked into boots but over her peep-toe shoes, but the pants are overkill.

This Catwoman's costume borrows a lot from the previous versions. There's a mask and cat ears, the high-heeled knee high boots and even a bit of silver found in the heel that call back to the claws. She's sleek like Pfeiffer and as monochromatic as Berry. But she also looks more prepared with her belt around her waist. The suit has modern touches, such as a zipper down the front, and the only unconventional item seems to be the heels.
