September Must-Read: CR Fashion Book

In December 2010, Carine Roitfeld announced she was leaving Vogue Paris, where she was the editor-in-chief. She later announced that she would start her own magazine, CR Fashion Book, that would come in book form.

There have been sneak peeks of what the book, which will be out in September, will offer.  The magazine will be biannual and will have a theme each month, and though there will be supplemental material online, it's going a completely different route than other magazines. This method means it has to cover a larger period of time and still have relevance by the time the next issue is due. The clues haven't been very helpful to pin down who the target audience is.

Every book will be about 200 pages long, and it will feature both established and emerging talent. It's going to have personal touches through her handwriting appearing throughout the pages. It's unclear what the book will offer, but Roitfeld has said that it won't be in competition with Vogue. She's out to create something new.
