MFW, Day 2

Milan Fashion Week is moving right along, and we're avoiding street photography because we don't want to fall in love with the picturesque Milan scenery.

But we did fall in love with a couple of collections:

The inspiration was the dreamlike David Hamilton photos, and the resulting collection captured the delicate feel. Dainty flowers on chiffon and light colors are soft, but flower crown and floppy hats also give it a flower power edge. This explains why animal print was also in the mix. It never did take center stage, but beneath layers of cloth, it did make an impact.

Relaxed fits gave a cool vibe at Ports 1961 that even gauzy fabrics couldn't make look sweet. The clothing itself is generally uncomplicated--white button downs, black blazers and simple dresses. Lace details, sparkly necklines, and pointed, strappy shoes added the necessary details. It's effortless and perfect for a girl on the go.
