MFW, Day 4

We're that much closer to the end of Milan Fashion Week, and we loved the very vibrant collections we came across on Saturday.

Here are some shows that stood out to us:

Bottega Veneta

Bottega Veneta was ladylike without many of the frills. Boxy silhouettes and studs helped balance out the very feminine collection, where many of the dresses were knee length. So while there is some edginess in the mix, it's mostly about looking like a lady.

Aquilano.Rimondi

Geometric shapes, florals and color were the mainstays of the Aquilano.Rimondi show. Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi were influenced by Fellini's "La Strada", Roberto Cappucci and the Venice Carnival. Despite pulling from so many places and having each look bursting with detail, it was very well put together. The diamond was repeated throughout and mixed with other shapes and given satiny and shimmery finishes. The accessories were also noteworthy: obi belts in bright colors and cutout shoes.

Jil Sander

Jil Sander returned as the head of her label, and sent own a clean cut, minimalist collection. The emphasis was on garment construction and how well tailored everything was. The color scheme was burgundy, white and black. Red wasn't used as much, but it really popped against all the other colors. And the low-cut boots generally mimicked the clothing by being bicolored.
