MFW, Day 5

As much as we loved day three of Milan Fashion Week, we think day five might be our new favorite. Picture after picture, we kept being wowed by what hit the catwalks.

Here are some collections that caught our eyes:

Marni

The spring 2013 collection was true to the Marni spirit. It's not sexy, but it's stylish. It had loose silhouettes, rounded shoulders and voluminous peplum. The colors were mostly on the light side, but flowery and checkered prints were in the mix, too.

Dolce & Gabbana

Ultra-colorful pieces with florals, tassels and beaded embroidery were inspired by street markets and puppet theaters that were rich in Italian culture. In between that hodgepodge, there was also a lot of striped dresses, skirts and tops. At the end, it was part sophisticated lady with a '50s flair and part bold and fun.

Missoni

Missoni's chevron was once again the star. It's always nice to see it interpreted in new ways, and for Spring 2013 it'll come with thin lines, sideways or broken up in fragments to form different patterns. But the chevron wasn't the only thing that worked in this collection. It was mostly on the light side and pretty perfect for the warmer months of the year.
