We're more than halfway through, and there's still plenty of exciting things happening.
Here's what we have beent talking and thinking about:
Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham's designs are always chic, but there's also a bit of seriousness to them, so when her latest collection was unveiled, it was surprising to see the results. Where last spring season, there were heavy-looking coats and leather leggings, this season there's lattice-cut sleeves and lighter shoes. It's almost as if the last few seasons have been about laying the groundwork and learning about design, but now, she's ready to have fun with fashion. If it continues to go in this direction, it will only be good news for Beckham. The beginning of Beckham seemed mostly to cater to her and people who looked like her, but this change will be much more inclusive.

With the big, frizzy hair that the models sported on the runway, it was easy to imagine something beachy or kooky. In reality, it was neither. The hair (and footwear, which were knee-high, laced-up sandals) ended up serving as a nice juxtaposition to the ruffles, lace and bird prints that made up the collection. The styling was a lot more casual and sometimes served to toughen up the girliness that are inherent in the clothing. All in all, it was a nice balance.
Tracy Reese

Tracy Reese had a great start to fashion week, and it was technically not even fashion week yet. When Michelle Obama wore her dress to the Democratic National Convention, Reese's name was everywhere, and with her colorful Spring 2013 collection, it's going to stay that way. Despite the mixing of patterns, use of many colors, such as orange, greens and yellows, and the coordinating accessories, it is not over the top. In fact, it feels sort of laid back. It's not body hugging, and it's really easy when it needs to be.
