PFW, Day 5

After a long and rainy Friday, we decided to skip our day four recap. But some pieces from that day will end up on our best of recap.

Anyway, we are moving forward with what we most liked from day five.

Cacharel

Ling Liu and Dawei Sun delivered a pretty collection that heavily featured florals. It was dynamic in its use of fabrics and silhouettes. Cacharel went from sheer and flowy to more rigid and tailored.

The prominent rounded shoulders and many coats presented the picture of a strong woman. Even though see-through dresses and high slits were also part of the mix, it never read as frilly because of the clean lines. One of the most interesting parts of the collection was the color mixing. an unexpected burgundy and light blue pairing really worked well together.

Neil Barrett

With its wide-legged trousers and loose-fitting tops, the Neil Barrett collection was made up of lots of fabric. But it was fluid and light. Barrett said, "I wanted to take all the volume of fall and collapse it." It was a simple enough concept that made its way into every part of the collection. The colors were almost entirely black and white, and the accessories were kept to a minimum. All of this combined into a very straightforward collection.
