Weekend Must Watch: The Girl

From "Rear Window" to "Psycho," the movies of Alfred Hitchcock have become classics.

But the HBO movie, "The Girl", didn't focus on the success of the English director and producer. Instead, it looked at his relationship with Tippi Hedren, the star of "The Birds" and "Marnie." (Sienna Miller plays the part of Hedren and Toby Jones is Hitchcock.) The model caught Hitchcock's eye, and she was brought in to screen test.

With no acting experience, Hitchcock was able to mold her. But it went as far as his telling her what kind of clothes and make-up to wear. And then it got worse. He began to sexually harass her, too.

Hedren has give the HBO film her approval, and she went on to say that Hitchcock ruined her career and made her life difficult.  It's not only interesting to get some insight into this actress' rise to fame, but it's also refreshing to see someone who wouldn't give in just to become more successful.
