Compared to what the last few days brought, today was a rather calm one (and there were more than 30 shows going on).
Here are a few brands that made an impact:
Karen Walker
Slouchy with a side of beige doesn't sound particularly exciting, but this Karen Walker collection, which was inspired by her love of music, was both punk and versatile. The models' messy-ish hair complemented the theme, but the pieces could easily be transformed into a girly ensemble.
ICB
A lot of the same details that have shown up in past ICB by Prabal Gurung collection, such as waist cinching accessories and piping, were present for Fall 2013. Well, there's an easy answer for that. Prabal Gurung describes the collection as building blocks. "I want the first season to work with the current season and so on." He was inspired by East Village friends wear, so he came up with something that worked for different weathers and situations.
